Red Cloud Community Fund Awards Grants from September Month of Giving

December 30, 2020

The Red Cloud Community Fund recently awarded grants to various community organizations who applied for their Fall grant cycle. This year, RCCF was able to grant more money than usual thanks to the Red Cloud Community raising over $15K during the inaugural September Month of Giving campaign. RCCF awarded $2500 to the City of Red Cloud's Historic Preservation Commission, $2500 to Cherry Corner Estates Assisted Living Center (through the City of Red Cloud--see below for more details), $2500 to the Webster County Senior Services Center, $2000 to The Valley Child Development Center's Outdoor Classroom ( see below), and $2000 to fund the RCCF's Youth FAC, which will be dispersed once matching funds are raised and a project important to local youth to support is identified and settled upon. Additional money from the campaign was earmarked by donors to support TVCDC, Heritage Tourism, and RCCF's General Fund.

2020 has been a difficult year for everyone and Cherry Corner Estates Assisted Living Center has had an especially tough time grappling with the fallout of the pandemic. RCCF was pleased to be able to grant Cherry Corner Estates $2500 to help with revenue shortfalls connected to COVID-19. RCCF was pleased to grant The Valley Child Development Center $2,000 for new swings in their outdoor classroom! The donation was made possible thanks to generous support from the community during our September Month of Giving campaign. Donors also earmarked an additional $1100 specifically for TVCDC.
