Red Cloud Community Fund awards Mariah Delka $1,000 scholarship
RED CLOUD—The Red Cloud Community Fund (RCCF) is pleased to announce that Red Cloud resident Mariah Delka has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the John & Dorothy Sherwood non-traditional scholarship account. Delka is pursuing a Masters of Science degree in Curriculum & Instruction at Peru State College. The John & Dorothy Sherwood non-traditional scholarship account allows RCCF to help people living and/or working in the Red Cloud area to pursue the education they need to enhance their skillsets or obtain opportunities that might not otherwise be attainable financially. By doing so, RCCF helps improve the earning power of community members and the quality of services available to everyone. If you’re interested in applying for a non-traditional scholarship, please contact RCCF Scholarship Committee Chair Karla Burgess at kburgess@redcloudschool.us. Non-traditional scholarships are available year-round.
RCCF also grants out the following traditional scholarships: The Red Cloud Community Fund scholarship ($1,000 to a Red Cloud student), the Red Cloud Memorial Scholarship ($500 to a Red Cloud student), and the Clint Erickson Memorial Scholarship ($500 to a student athlete from Red Cloud, Blue Hill, Silver Lake, or Franklin). This year, RCCF also has $1500 in scholarship funding from the Bike Ride Across Nebraska (BRAN) organization to give away. The winners of these high school scholarships will be announced in early May. Please contact Karla Burgess for more information.
