1964: A bomb at a Baptist church in Birmingham killed four black girls. A woman in Selma was denied the right to vote. Herbert Hoover was bugging the phone lines of Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. and telling President Lyndon Johnson that King was a threat to America. In this context, Dr. King, Ralph Abernathy, Andrew Young and others scheduled a march from Selma to Montgomery to call attention to the right of African Americans to vote. “The Times, They Are A-Changin.’ ”
